Huge cache of arms, explosives recovered from Kishtwar, Poonch | | | JAMMU: A large quantity of arms and ammunition, including 75 kg explosive powder, was recovered from two hideouts of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants in Kishtwar and Poonch today. Police sources said jawans of 11 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and police launched a massive search operation in Nalkoot Nullah forests of Singpura in Chhatru, Kishtwar, in the wee hours of this morning. While combing the woods, the jawans came across a LeT hideout, the sources added. Its search led jawans to the recovery of one .12 bore rifle, two bags containing 75 kg explosive powder, six IEDs with LeT marking, 19 UBGL grenades, three Chinese grenades, one Pak-made grenade, 25 gelatine sticks and one tin IED. The hideout was later destroyed by the jawans. This was the biggest cache of explosives recovered in the state this year, an army officer said. Another LeT hideout was smashed by jawans of 37 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and police at Banola Top Kasbalori in Mendhar, Poonch. From there, one RPG grenade, two Chinese grenades, seven detonators, 8 mt detonator wire, 161 AK rounds and one sheet were recovered.
