2 HM men held with hawala money | | | JAMMU: Two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) men were today arrested by police at Ramban along with hawala money which was to be delivered to a commander of the outfit. He was identified as Fareed Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi of Loblatha Kharee and Imtiaz Ahmed Hazam, son of Abdul Ahad Hazam of Chanjloo. Imitiaz was at present putting up at Nagbal, Banihal. Police sources said acting on a tip-off that hawala money was being carried by them from Banihal to Kharee for HM district commander Abdul Rashid Naik alias Qari Zubair, son of Akbar Naik of Gulseer, Kharee Loblatha, a special naka was laid near Shabanbass, Banihal. Seeing the naka, Fareed tried to run, but he was chased and held by the cops, the sources added. His search led cops to the recovery of Rs 20,000 of hawala money and a letter addressed to HM commander Qari. During his interrogation, he revealed that hawala money was given to him by Imtiaz. Sources said cops raided Imitiaz's house and arrested him too. Imitiaz's brother Bilal Ahmad, who was a HM militant, was at present in Pakistan. Bilal had asked him to hand over the money to the HM commander, the sources added, saying Fareed was cousin of Qari. A case under sections 17, 20, 21, 40 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act was registered against them at Banihal police station.
