Impose Governor's rule, reiterates JKNPP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 10: Demanding imposition of Governor's rule in the wake of unrest in the state, the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today said 'lust for power' was not allowing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to step down. ''The situation in Kashmir is deteriorating day by day and we are strongly in favour of imposition of Governor's rule but Omar Abdullah is not ready to quit because of 'lust' and his 'love' for the chair,'' said MLA and Working Chairman JKNPP Harsh Dev Singh while addressing media persons here today. Singh alleged that both National Conference and Congress can go up to any extent to remain in 'power' and unfortunately both the parties were presently running a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that all party meeting convened by the Chief Minister on Monday has no agenda. ''Instead of inviting the representatives of various political parties for the meet to discuss Kashmir imbroglio, 'notices' have been served to us, which shows that government does not want to talk seriously about the issue,'' added Singh. MLA said that the working committee meeting of JKNPP has decided to stay away from the meeting to be convened by the Chief Minister. ''We will not be attending the all party meet, which will not yield any fruitful results.'' The JKNPP leaders reiterated their demand of Governor Rule in the state and said Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman JKNPP should be appointed as the Chief Minister.
