7/10/2010 11:27:48 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 10: Stressing for a transparent transfer policy in the Department of School Education, National Secular Forum (NSF) has demanded a high-level enquiry in the recently made adjustments in the 10+2 lecturers' postings.
The Forum has further demanded removal of Director School Education, Jammu Zahida Khan for her alleged large scale corruption in the School Education Department.
Addressing a press conference here today, Vikas Sharma, president NSF claimed that DSE has recently made adjustments in the 10+2 lectures cadre only after receiving "bribe" to place the incumbents at their desirable places.
"What was the need of making modifications in the adjustments made in wake of joining of new candidates as school lecturers?" questioned the NSF leader alleging that modifications were made within 15 days of issuing adjustment orders.
"Those, who were adjusted/posted at Doda, Poonch and other rural areas on their first posting were called back and posted in Jammu and its outskirts within the fortnight. When they people were first posted at other places then why they brought back," Vikas Sharma said and asserted that modification in the adjustments was the clear example of rampant corruption in the School Education Department.
He also targeted Minister of School Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed for his nepotism and corruption in School Education Department, adding that earlier it was the "Rural Electrification Scam" during his tenure as Rural Development Minster and this time there will be rather big scam in the Education Department if the enquiry is probed in the entire issue. While quoting the figures of Economic Survey Report of the state government that reflects 363 Higher Secondary Schools and 581 High Schools were functioning in dilapidated conditions after their upgradation whereas 7 Higher Secondary Schools, 76 High Schools, 628 Middle Schools an d 4119 Primary Schools were sans buildings in the state, Vikas said under these circumstance how a common man expect quality education for his wards. "The favourites of the Director has been given prized postings in the Jammu city while other candidates have been posted at far-off places which speak volumes of favouritism and corruption prevailing in the department," Rakesh Chib, NSF vice president charged. NSF Jammu University president Maqeem Ansari & Advocate M S Qureshi were also present on the occasion.
