Centre must ensure action against divisive forces in J&K: BJP | | | early times report Kolkata, July 10: Stating that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has "failed" to control the situation in Kashmir, BJP on Saturday demanded the Centre to ensure that he takes action against divisive and anti-national forces in the northern state. "(Omar) Abdullah has utterly failed to control the divisive and anti-national forces in Kashmir Valley. The Centre must act to see that he takes action against those elements," BJP national spokesman Tarun Vijay told a press conference in Kolkata. Pakistani hand is clearly visible in the current unrest in Kashmir valley, he said, adding that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's talks with his Pakistani counterpart had no basis. "Chidambaram's talks with his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik and the foreign secretary-level talks between the two countries had no basis...Unless Pakistan gives cast iron proof that it is not supporting any anti-India activity, there is no use of any dialogue with that country," Vijay said. "External Affairs Minister SM Krishna had earlier described Pakistan as the epicentre of all terrorism...But, all on a sudden talks were held with Pakistan ostensibly under US pressure," he said, adding that a unanimous resolution passed in Parliament had stated, "We should take back the portion of Kashmir occupied by Pakistan. Let the Prime Minister tell the nation what his government is doing to implement it."
