Chib visits SMHS hospital, takes stock of its functioning | | | early times report Srinagar, July 10: Minister for Medical Education, Mr. R. S. Chib today paid a visit of Shree Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital, Srinagar and took stock of its functioning. During the visit, the Minister inspected various wards of the hospital which included general, emergency, in-patients wards, laboratories and drug store. He interacted with the patients and their attendants and enquired about the medicare facilities being provided to them in the hospital. The patients and attendents expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided to them in the hospital. Mr. Chib said that the cath- lab, neurology, nephrology, MRI and CT Scan laboratories installed in adjoining building of hospital would be operationalized soon to facilitate the parients. He said that this would help in improving the healthcare facilities in the valley. The Minister instructed the concerned hospital authorities to ensure timely medical investigations, besides, providing ambulance services in the emergency cases. Later, the Minister chaired a meeting with Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar, Dr. Shahida Mir, Medical Superintendent, SMHS, Dr. Wasem Quarshi and doctors of the hospital. The meeting was apprised that a sufficient stock of life saving drugs is available in the hospital. It was further informed that the registration in out-patient department has to some extent affected, although the emergency is functioning as usual.
