Ex. MLA demands drought relief package against crop lost | | | Early Times report Jammu, July 10: A drought relief package against more than seventy percent crop loss in the district of Rajouri and Poonch has been demanded by the former legislator and advocate Ashok Kumar Sharma while addressing a farmers meet held at Panglar in Rajouri district today. Speaking on the occasions Sharma urged upon the state governments to pass specific instructions to make special entries in the Khasra girdawri with regards to the loss crop to each family and provide relief directly to the families till the package is sectioned each family be provided six month free ration. He also demanded cattle crop insurance on government expense to face such natural calamities without any burden on the state exchequer. On the occasion more then three dozen delegations in the presence of Ex-MLA Sharma presented their local grievances with regards to drinking water, power shortage and un-scheduled cuts, issuance of job cards and 100 day employment under NREGS, registration of false cases to victimization of innocent persons and workers, irrigation and road link needs, supply of fertilizers, damage to houses due to climatic changes and harassment to consumers and food-grain dealers. Prominent among those who participated and addressed the conference included Raj Kumar Soba Ram, Bodh Raj, Paul Padha, Suraj Ram, Kashmir Singh, SR Khajuria, Ch. Noor Hussain, Rattan, Ram lal, and others.
