7/11/2010 12:12:13 AM
NEW DELHI: Gone are the days when mediclaim policy holders availed cashless facility in high-end hospitals. Big hospitals like Apollo, Gangaram, Fortis Max in Delhi and NCR, at the behest of insurance companies have curbed cashless facility for policy holders. The new mode will mean that policy holders would pay from their own pocket and can later claim the reimbursement with effect from July 01.
Insurance companies have now decided to stop their direct payment to policy holders. The new cashless facility will take into bracket 150 high-end hospitals in Delhi and NCR and other metro cites. At least 18 major insurance companies including four public sector units have decided to take off the cashless facility. The policy will gradually be rolled out across the country.
