| ASI killed in accidental fire | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 11: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police was today killed in accidental fire at Chakan-da-Bagh cross-LoC (Line of Control) trade point in Poonch.
ASI Sagar Singh was performing the duty of a Line Officer at the cross-LoC trade point when the incident took place, police sources said.He received a gunshot and was killed on the spot after his service
weapon went off accidentally, the sources added.SSP, Poonch, Manmohan Singh said Sagar was on guard duty when his weapon went off accidentally and the bullet pierced his neck,
resulting in his instant death.After post-mortem at the Poonch hospital, the body was despatched to
his native village Ramnagar for last rites, he added.A case in this connection stands registered at the concerned police station.
