JAMMU. July 12: In a press statement, Sandeep Singh Charak, President Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) has taken a strong note of various political parties/social organizations for demanding a local Vice Chancellor for Central University coming up in Jammu. He said that these leaders were talking of local vice chancellor for a university which has not yet come up.
He said that Prof. Amitabh Mattoo is a local resident of J&K and has contributed to the development of Jammu university. He said that the achievements made by Prof. Amitabh Mattoo during his tenure cannot be matched by any other Vice Chancellor during such a short period of time.
He said that Vice Chancellor Prof. Mattoo was the only vice chancellor who took the initiative of opening the campus of Jammu University at each district headquarters. It was only during his tenure that a number of courses were added in the Jammu University.
He said that appointment of non-local vice chancellor for Jammu University has diminished the status and name of the university. He said that during the tenure of present VC, a non-local person corruption and miss management have done much damage to the university.
