The incessant rains continued for more than an hour at various parts of the city. People in winter capital of the state were keenly waiting for the monsoon rains as the humid conditions has made the situation unbearable for the common man. "With today's heavy downpour we hope that monsoon this time would be normal which in turn would also provide much needed relief to the farmers, who faced a long dry spell", said Ruby Mahajan. According to the weatherman this rainfall will be helpful to the farmers of the state as the wheat harvesting time is almost over, while cultivators are preparing their fields for Kharif crops and the rains at this time is considered necessary.
