All Party march against neglecting Bhaderwah
7/12/2010 10:58:39 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Bhaderwah, July 12: In order to intensify the struggle against discrimination meted out to the people of Bhaderwah, All Political Parties today organized a strong protest rally in the premises of historical Seri Bazar, where they shouted slogans in favour of their genuine demands. They held state government responsible for the miseries of the people.
In the morning, hundreds of workers of all political parties including JSM, JDS, JKNPP, BSP, CPI (M), and others sat on a dharna while speakers highlighted the problems of the people. The rally marched through various bazaars and streets to culminate in the Seri Bazar Bhaderwah.
Speaking on the occasion State Acting President JDS, Mast Nath Yogi strongly criticized the state government led by NC for neglecting Bhaderwah constituency in all matters of development. He observed that recently concluded Bhaderwah Festival was merely eyewash where Bhaderwah Development Authority misused the funds of state exchequer. Neither service nor goods related to Bhaderwah was sold in the festival; artists and musicians were called from outside the town reflecting the apathy of state government towards this town. He described Bhaderwah Festival a complete failure and warned BDA not to organize pro-grammes of self-aggrandizement. Another speaker Abdul Hafeez Wani of BSP said that there is dire need of creation of two blocs of Bhaderwah and demanded that Bhaderwah constituency deserved to be given district status. He said their struggle against the step motherly treatment meted out to Bhaderwah would continue till the justice was done. Chowdhary Muhammad Iqbal of JKNPP demanded dismissal of the state government as it had failed on all fronts to save the lives of civilians in Kashmir Valley adding that corruption was rampant in government institutions in Bhaderwah town, as all departments including BDO Office, R&B, Irrigation, Food and Supply, SFC and the rest were looting state exchequer with both hands. He demanded enquiry into the rumours of misappropriation and bungling in funds meant for development activities in the town. Speakers informed that the main motive of the protest rally was to let authorities know that there was acute shortage of doctors in SDH Bhaderwah and people were suffering a lot. He demanded immediate recruitment at all available vacant posts of specialists failing which there would be a mass stir. Others present on the occasion were Advocate Chowdhary Rauf, Des Raj Manhas, Abdul Haq Zargar, Shashpal Gupta, Abdul Qayoom Sufi, Mohammad Aslam Khan and others.
