Appointment orders of KPs kept in abeyance for one month | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 13 : The state Government has decided to keep the issuance of the appointment order in favour of Kashmiri displaced youths in abeyance for one month because of the current situation in the Kashmir valley. Official sources said that after the recruiting Board selected over 1500 candidates, who are to be posted in Kashmir, the Government had sanctioned the appointment orders. These orders were to be issued when the valley was rocked by violence. Sources said that the Government decided to keep the issuance of the appointment orders in abeyance for one month. The Minister for Revenue and R elief,Raman Bhalla had taken personal interest in getting the selection process expedited. He had talked to the Minister for School Education, Peerzada Mohd.Syed,and requested him that those given the appointment orders be posted in schools at the district and tehsil headquarters and not in institutes located in farflung areas. Bhalla had talked to other commissioners and secretaries and suggested to them that the displaced youths be posted at tehsil headquarters. Bhalla has suggested to the Board to complete the selection of the remaining 1500 candidates so that all the 3,000 candidates were posted in Kashmir after the situation improved. These posts have been created under the Prime Minister's employment package for the displaced youths from Kashmir. In the initial stages, the programme envisaged creation of 6,000 posts, 3,000 in the central and the remaining 3,000 posts in the state sector.H owever,the state Government informed the centre because of financial stringency and constitutional constraints it was not possible for the state to foot the wage bill of 3,000 employees. The state Government has t aken up the matter of inclusion of the remaining 3,000 posts in the central sector with the centre Meanwile, several leaders of Pandit bodies have again urged the Government to review the posting of selected youths in Kashmir. H.L.Chatha, Kuldeep Raina and others wanted the Government to delink employment from return of the displaced families. They said keeping in abeyance the appointment of selected youth for one month was a loss to the unemployed youth.They urged the Revenue Minister to post the selected youth in the Jammu region till the situation in Kashmir became conducive for their posting in the valley.
