| Sufficient quantity of ration available at sale centres: Director CA&PD | | |

JAMMU, July 13: Refuting the news item aired through Radio recently regarding non-availability of ration in Marwah and Warwan areas, Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Jammu termed the news baseless adding that sufficient quantities of food stock are still available at the sale outlets of Marwah and Warwan. It was apprised that over 2108 quintals of rice, 392 quintals of wheat and 180 quintals of sugar are presently available at different sale outlets in these areas. Regarding the stock of food grains in departmental godowns, it was informed that to meet any further requirement of ration at the sale centres about 3000 quintals of rice is available at Gowran store while 342 quintals of rice, 36 quintals of wheat, 21 quintals of sugar is stocked at Inshan Guzar store besides 466 quintals of rice, 21 quintals of wheat and 126 quintals of sugar is available in Inshan Food Store.
Over 1,880 quintals of rice, 432 quintals of wheat and 50 quintals of sugar were distributed in Marwah area through nine sale centres while 1,160 quintals of rice, 720.3 quintals of wheat and 45.8 quintals of sugar were disbursed in Warwan area through four sale centres between May and June this year.
