JCCB Extension Counter inaugurated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT AKHNOOR, July 13: Coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps, this was stated by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, after inaugurating Extension Counter of the Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd at Dorian-Dager at a public-cum-officers meeting convened here today. Minister for R&B and Mechanical Engineering, G. M. Saroori, Minister of State for Cooperative Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Director Tourism, Jammu, Chief Engineers R&B (PWD) and PMGSY, Managing Director Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd, senior officers of concerned department, prominent citizens and a large number of people were present. Regarding various other welfare and developmental schemes launched by the government particularly for people living below poverty line, the Minister urged the people to come forward and avail benefits of these state and centrally sponsored schemes. During a public interaction, various demands were putforth by the people of the area which mainly included completion of roads like Shoara to Kamdhani, Dagair to Panaya, construction of road from Mallah to Panya, construction of tube-well in Dorian-Dager and adjoining areas, Bridge at Dori-Dager, upgradation and renovation of schools including Higher Secondary School Dorian Dager and High School Panya, adequate drinking water supply, uninterrupted electricity, road connectivity to link roads, filling up vacancies in health and education, old age pension schemes and provision of various Centre and State government sponsored schemes, payment under NREGA and JK Transport Bus for Dorian-Dager. Responding to the demands, Deputy Chief Minister directed the concerned Chief Engineer to take up construction work of various roads including Dagair to Panaya Road, Bridge on Dagair Panaya Road and Shoara to Kamdhani on priority. He assured that the other grievances and demands would be discussed with concerned authorities for early redressal. Later, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma informed that as many as 70 branches and 20 Extension Counter of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd already exist in Jammu Province. He asked the people to open an account in this counter in large number so that more extension counter would be set up in adjoining areas in near future.
