JACTN demands basic facilities for Transport Nagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 13: Joint Action Committee Transport Nagar (JACTN) today staged a protest to highlight the problems being faced by the inhabitants, traders, transporters, mechanics and allied 'individuals'. Shouting slogans against the authorities, the protesters burnt effigies of JDA and Municipality. The neglect of the Transport Nagar and the transport industry were highlighted. The protesters alleged that the amenities like supply of drinking water, providing of adequate electricity and management of the sewerages have not been cared for this area of Transport Nagar. The aggrieved protesters alleged that Transport Minister has only been making tall claims while sitting in AC rooms but the ground realities are altogether different. It is an admitted fact that transport is the backbone of the times and deteriorating of its working is harmful for the masses and the state. The overloading is a menace which needs to be tackled urgently but the Traffic authorities are least bothered. Harminder Singh (SAD-A), Pritam Sharma from Kranti Dal, Anmol Sethi from All Jammu and Kashmir Automobiles Traders and Mechanic Association were among others took part in the protest. |
