My love for theatre is eternal: Ishita | | | SIDDHARTH Early Times Report Jammu, July 13: She might not have yet scaled the towering zeniths in the field of art as her other contemporaries so far, Ishita's yearn in excelling in the field is very progressing as she wants to reflect her latent talent in a way that may attract the potential director for her roping in the major projects of art and culture. Ishita, who picked up with her cravings in the field had her small appearances in various movie ads that caught the viewer's attention for her attitude and aptitude at the outset that gathered her more offers from various quarters and brought her into the celluloid limelight. In a tête-à-tête with Early Times, Ishita speaks about her cravings in the field and how she fell in love with the art that of late has grown multitude presenting a wider perspective to the new genre entering into the field. Following are the excerpts: ET: How did you find the celluloid and proscenium field more exciting than any other? Ishita: Though I am brought up in a very conservative family, yet I tried small attempts in the field of art by going in for small ad features in the local channels and in the meantime got some appreciation and also a morale booster from my colleagues to take up the challenge seriously. Since then I've been working in the local TV soaps and serial that have fetched me good returns also. ET: Did you feel some resistance from the family, friends or relatives as the media in Jammu and Kashmir is generally not looked upon here as a respectable thing for venturing into? Ishita: No. I never had any resistance from any quarter. Though my family being conservative, yet I had full support to pursue my likings in the field. Besides the present media having expanded to greater expanses and of late is being recognized as one of the most potential outsource that can provide the new talent an opportunity to excel cannot be looked upon as an unrespectable things. Even parents dancing with their siblings on the national TV reality shows prove this notion outrightly wrong. ET: Stage theatre is known to be mother of all inventions in the field of art. What has been your contribution to it and how you see an artist's potential chiseled through it ? Ishita: My love for theatre is eternal. Though I long to work in TV projects and register my providence there as an artist of some bearing, the theatrist within me has to work exhaustively to keep my potential honed for any challenge in the field. In this regard I am in constant touch with every theatrical activity in the region of late. I've performed in Gulzar's rendition of poetry translated into a theatrical idiom called 'Kharashen' in just concluded Jammu theatre festival that was widely appreciated by all. ET: What are your immediate plans and projects in hand and how do you see doing justice to them. Ishita: Right now I am very excited to make a much needed appearance in the Theatre of Convenience started by the Numero Uno Stage artist and director of the state Vikram Sharma, whose attempt of English "Restaurant Theater" has drawn unprecedented accolades and appreciation from the critics and public. Besides the Hollywood celebrity Ms Preeti Saproo having come into the town for her latest venture in the film making on Jammu and Kashmir has picked up my candidature for a meaty role into it towards which I am looking forward to.
