Cabinet tries to set the tone for Krishna's Pak visit | | | NEW DELHI, July 13: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh held a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) here today to mainly decide about the thrust and focus of talks that External Affairs Minister SM Krishna is going to have with Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi during his Islamabad visit, beginning tomorrow. Besides Krishna, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister AK Antony and Union Minister Pranab Mukherjee took part in today's discussions held at the residence of the Prime Minister. Indications are that Krishna would mostly focus on the issue of terrorism that emanates from Pakistan. And India would like to insist that Islamabad acts firmly and decisively against those behind 26/11 Mumbai attack which took place in 2008. Yet as per the CCS mandate the option to continue engagement with the neighbouring country on this and other issues of mutual concern are to be kept open and taken forward through the dialogue process that is being revived after 26/11 attack. This is to proceed with efforts to build trust between the two countries and through resolving humanitarian issues faced by the people of both the countries. This is what the talks have been initiated for ever since Manmohan Singh met his Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in Bhutan in April on the sidelines of SAARC summit.
