| Part I student commits suicide | | |

JAMMU, July 13: Apparently depressed after failing her part I college examinations, an 18-year-old Leh girl allegedly hanged herself to death in a rented house at Nanak Nagar here last night.
Identified as Teetan Dalkund of Vasco, Leh, she was at present putting up in sector 9 of Nanak Nagar where she had taken a room on rent.
The results of BA/B.Sc/B.Com part I examinations were declared yesterday. Police sources said after she came to know that she had failed to pass the exams, she allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan hook in her room.
There was no one in the room when she took this extreme step, the sources added.
After the matter was brought to their notice by the landlord, police reached the house and evacuated the body to the mortuary of the GMC Hospital. It would be handed over to her family members for last rites after post-mortem. Police had registered a case in this connection.
