MLA Mankotia meets with HP Chief minister | | | Early Times Report Himachal, July 16: Balwant Singh Mankotia, State President, Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) and member legislative assembly today met with chief minister of Himachal Shri Prem Kumar Dhummal and presented him a bouquet on behalf of Dogra community of Jammu region that has traditional and geographical bonds with the people of Himachal Pradesh. During the meeting, several issues came up for discussion, like the present security situation in the two adjoining states, development scenario and traditional Mani Mash and Kailash pilgrimages undertaken by the people of both the states of Himachal Pradesh and J&K. Mankotia also highlighted the problems faced by Mani Mehesh yatris, especially those traveling from Doda, Kishtwar, Bhadarwah and Ramban areas of Jammu and Kashmir State. He demanded providing bath rooms, toilet and proper accommodation for the pilgrims, and also requisite facilities for them at Chamba and Barmohare stations. Mankotia informed the chief minister that around thirty thousand person made pilgrimage to this shrine every year traveling by road or on foot. He demanded exemption of passenger tax especially for Mani Mehesh yatris. H.P Chief Minister assured him that all possible steps would be taken in this regard. The deputy commissioner of Chamba and MLA Chamba Shri Chowhan were also present in the meeting. MLA Mankotia congratulated the chief minister for his bold initiatives and rapid developmental strides taken by his government especially in power sector and implementation of all other centre sponsored schemes in Himachal Pradesh. As a gesture of goodwill, the Chief Minister honoured Balwant Singh Mankotia at his office by placing traditional Himachali cap on his head.
