9 women pickpockets held, cash recovered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 16 : Nine Kashmiri women pickpockets, including their ringleader, were today arrested by police from Ramnagar in Udhampur along with a stolen wallet and cash. The ringleader was identified as Yasmeen, daughter of Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh of Sopore. The group had come to Ramnagar a few days back in the guise of beggars, police sources said. All of them boarded a bus from Kirmoo to Ramnagar in the morning. Sources said while travelling in the bus, Yasmeen stole the purse of her co-passenger Nek Ram, son of Galodu, and then all of them got down. When Nek Ram alighted from the bus at Ramnagar, he found his purse missing. He soon went to the nearby police station and lodged a complaint, expressing doubt on the Kashmiri ladies. His purse contained Rs 3,800, the sources added. Acting on the complaint, police immediately swung into action and arrested Yasmeen and her eight accomplices from Chigli Chori area of Ramnagar. Sources said the stolen wallet and the cash were recovered from them. They were cooling their feet in the lockup of Ramnagar police station where a case was registered against them.
