Drive against adulteration in Kathua

EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, July 16: In order to check the menace of adulteration, a team of officers comprising of Tehsildar Billawar, TSO and Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Billawar imposed a fine of Rs 3825 on shopkeepers for violating certain norms. Besides two persons were fined Rs 200 for smoking at public place and Rs 500 were fined from milk vendors for selling adulterated milk. Apart from that, the team also destroyed 5 kg of red chili powder and unhygienic prepared food in a dhaba. The team also seized 10 kg of polythene bags on the spot. Tehsildar asked the shopkeepers to display rate lists of essential commodities in their shops for the information of the consumers.
