NSF demands Science stream for Degree College Bishnah | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT BISHNAH,July 17: National Secular Forum today organized one day Conference at Kanhal and chalked out the problems being faced by the student community and people of Bishnah. Vikas Sharma State President of NSF, was the chief guest of the function whereas, Rohit Sharma, in charge Bishnah (District Secretary) presided over. A large number of delegates attended the function. Addressing the gathering President of NSF, Vikas Sharma stressed upon the government to apply a serious thought to strengthen the rural education infrastructure and support under privileged children besides, strengthening the education system. Sharma also said that Bishnah Degree College has arts stream only and the students are forced to join this stream. He strongly opposed the regional focused approach of ministers that are working only for their constituencies. NSF president said that all degree colleges of the Jammu provinces has Science stream but Bishnah College is the only exception. This was detrimental of the student community of Bishnah. He also demanded the construction of a permanent building for the college, at present housed in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School (Boys). Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Sharma, said that absence of science stream was a big loss to the local student community. He demanded the introduction of new subjects like commerce, Statistics, sociology, geography etc., which have vast job potential in civil services and other competitive exams. On the occasion, a large number of students joined National Secular Forum here in Bishnah in presence of Vikas Sharma. He also said that the students who have joined the NSF have pledged to work with dedication for the organization.
