PIA flight ‘intrudes’ Indian air space | | | SUMIT SHARMA JAMMU: Amid the diplomatic level tensions in the wake of some controversial remarks of Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Quershei, this surely has reinforced the fears of putting forces on alert and increasing guard on borders. In what can be seen as unprecedented and unusual incident, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft inadvertently violated the Indian air space and flew into this side for few minutes at Abdullian near RS Pura on International border this morning. According to sources, on seeing that a Pakistan Aircraft is hovering over the Indian territory, the troops of Border Security Force got alerted however they maintained restrained and did not initiate any action. A BSF spokesman confirmed the report and told Early Times that a Pakistan aircraft intruded Indian air space at about 9:17am near International Border and made its entry 50 meter inside the Indian territory. He further said that the aircraft was first seen over Suchetgarh border and after few moments it then roamed over Abdullian. The aircraft then turned towards Suragpur post in Pakistan side at around 9:21 am and took its prescribed route. He said that initially BSF troops aimed at the aircraft as it violated the Indian air space but since it was a PIA flight carrying passengers, the BSF let it off.
