Engage Paramedics against available vacancies: Chib | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 18: Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib has exhorted upon the GMC authorities to immediate engage nursing and para-medical staff against available vacancies within one week on academic arrangement basis by the Committee and also recruit Class-IV employees on need basis within one week on one time relaxation of rules, the Minister said this after visited newly established Paediatric section at Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital and asked the hospital management to make it functional by July 25 next. The Paediatric section at the premier hospital has been set up by constructing a seprate complex inside the hospital premises to ease rush of patients in the main hospital building. The three storied building has a capacity of 300 beds equipped with latest diagnostic and treatment equipments. The newly created section also has an Out Door Patient facility to attend to daily visiting patients, besides Intensive Care Unit for advanced treatment. While the construction work on the building has already been completed in all respects, the installation of equipments and furnishing of wards is also nearing completion. The Minister went round various wards and inspected the Medicare facilities being made available for the patients. He asked the Government Medical College Jammu acting Principal, Dr Anees Choudhary and the HOD Pediatrics, Dr Rekha Harish to ensure early functioning of the block. He directed for making at least two wards of the block functional so that the congestion in the main hospital building was reduced to some extent. Later, the Minister visited new emergency block at GMC, the work on which is at the last stage of completion. The Minister inquired about various matters related to the construction of the building and steps being taken its early functioning. The Minister also directed the hospital management to take steps for renovation of the existing emergency block once it was shifted to the new block. Minister also directed for facelift of the entry gate the hospital premises and directed for installing the Hospital Sign Board more prominently.
