| Awareness programme on drug addiction | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 18: An awareness program on growing menace of Drug Addiction was organized by the department of Drug and Food Control organisation, in collaboration with Pharma Panthers club, here today.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy Controller, Drugs and Food Control organization Lotika Khajuria presented a powerpoint presentation to highlighting the importance of drung regulations. She appealed the trade in particular and public in general to cooperate with the functionaries of the department in exposing unlawful activities carried out by anti-social element and expressed satisfaction over situation prevailing in the state vis-à-vis scenario existing in neighboring states with regard to control over sale and purchase of intoxicating drugs. She thanked the trade fraternity for the overwhelming cooperation in controlling the menace and misuse of certain leading brands that were earlier being sold like OTC (Over the Counter) drugs. She further highlighted the job of dispensing chemists and appealed traders to ensure good trade practices while dispensing of drug formulation and resolved to eradicate this social evil by strict enforcement of relevant laws.
