The protest was led by President of Beopar Mandal Rajouri Vijay Gupta who said that the department has totally failed to provide uninterrupted power supply in the area. "As the atmosphere is hot and people need power to maintain temperature in their houses, PDD has increased the frequency of power cuts for the last many days which has created acute problem for the residents", Gupta said adding that the department has diverted funds of power development department towards a particular area Manjakote which is injustice with the people of Rajouri. "We will not tolerate this attitude and demand immediate probe in the diversion of funds", he added.
Beopar Mandal President said that most of the businessmen in Rajouri are dependent upon power supply and they are suffering acute loss due to unscheduled power cuts.
