Piyush finds admirers in Kashmir
7/18/2010 11:19:22 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 18: As long as artists like little Piyush are there to bind the state in special and strong bonds, the wedge between various regions of the state will not deepen. This is how a Srinagar based Face book user appreciated the young artists from Jammu for his successful journey to the top four of Chak Doom Doom (a dance reality show).
The Face book user was moved by Piyush's appeal to the people of the state after he made it to the top four of the reality show. He did not seek votes from Jammu region only. He appealed to the people of Kashmir as well. "I would have loved to vote for him but the authorities have withdrawn SMS services in the Valley. I can only wish the little genius good luck", she said. Piyush's excellence and humility have not only won him acclaim from the judges but has evoked widespread appreciation from the Valley. Around a dozen people, mostly students, talked to Early Times and conveyed their good wishes to Piyush.
Zeenat, a student of BSc final year is proud of Piyush. "I am amazed to see the little boy from my state performing so confidently. God willing, he will steal the show", she said. A serious comment came from a lawyer who had only yesterday burnt his coat in protest against arrest of Bar President, Mian Abdul Qayoom. "Art recognizes no boundaries. Piyush is appreciated in the Valley as much as he is liked in Jammu. By urging the people of Kashmir to vote for him, he has made a crucial political statement. The kid's appeal is a befitting reply to all the hawks who want to divide the state on communal lines", he said. While elaborating he said Piyush knows the state is a single unit. He is aware of the fact that Kashmir and Jammu cannot be separated. "If this reality dawns on trouble makers, the state will become a nice place to live in", he added.
The Chak Doom Doom finale will be held on July 24. Needless to say, Kashmiris will watch it with keen interest and also pray for little Piyush.
