No politician visits house of Admiral Jamwal | Height of hypocrisy | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 19: Rear Admiral Satyender Singh Jamwal was the highest ranking officer from the state, who died tragically in Kochi, but none of the ministers and so called nationalist leaders have paid any visit to the family of the officer. Rear Admiral Satyender Singh Jamwal who was the second in command of the Navy's Southern Command died in July 7 in a freak incident at a training centre in Kochi had not received treatment which was expected from the politicians of the state. "So far none of the leaders, be it from Congress, National Conference or BJP or so called pro-Jammu social organizations visited the family of the deceased to offer their condolences. It is pity on their part, at least they should have offered condolences", said a relative of the officer. A neighbor of Rear Admiral Jamwal stated that it was the height of hypocrisy on part of these so called pro Jammu leaders, they raised only those issues having potential of increasing their vote bank. They have nothing to do with their pro Jammu utterances. It is pertinent to mention here that Jamwal was the second in command of the Navy's southern command, was at the training establishment INS Dronacharya's small arms firing range when the accidental firing is said to hit him while Jamwal was handling a pistol. Today was the 13th day of his death but the ministers of the coalition government not visited there to know the condition of the family of the victim of a tragic incident. "He was the son of the soil who could have become the first navy chief, if he would have survived. But it is shameful on the part of the ministers that they have so far not visited the father of the officer", said a local resident. Rear Admiral Satyendra Singh Jamwal, one of the Indian Navy's rising stars, died in a range accident in Kochi on the July 7 when a 9 mm pistol that had jammed accidentally discharged in his direction. Jamwal got associated with Indian Navy from July 1st, 1980. He had pursued his studies and trainings from Lawrence School Sanawar, National Defence Academy, Grechko Naval War College USSR, Defence Services Staff College Wellington and Army War College.
