| Sprawling Buds to organise Climbing competition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 19: A national level sport climbing competition for Junior girls shall be organized at Sprawling Buds School, Chinore, Jammu in October.
This was announced by the Chairman of the North Zone Sports Climbing Committee, S Bhattacharjee who visited Sprawling Buds School, Chinore, Jammu to see the climbing infrastructure and related facilities raised by the school.
While interacting with the Principal and staff of the school Bhattacharjee lauded their efforts for successfully organizing a climbing competition almost every month. He also congratulated them for maintaining a 40ft high standard climbing wall. Hoping that the school would produce a national champion very soon. He advised the school authorities to depute their climbers to Delhi and other parts of the country for better exposure on international standard walls. Earlier, Bhatta-charjee who was accompanied by LK Rai,Vice Chairman, Ram Khajuria, Secretary, BC Nainwal, Treasure and members of the North Zone Sport Climbing Committee JS Gulia, Mitra Ghosh, Amit Sharma and Shawetica Khajuria, was accorded a ceremonial welcome by the Principal of the school Puja Sharma and Directors of the school, Rahul Sharma, Ramesh Khajuria, Arti Sharma, Savita Khajuria and climbers of the school. He was presented a memento by the Principal of the School, Puja Sharma.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included OP Padha Sr Vice President of Tawi Trekkers, Sumit Khajuria, a renowned mountaineer, Neha Datta, Ritesh Jagotra and Satish Bhan and members of Tenzing Norgay Adventure Club.
