Annual plan of Rs 81 cr approved for Rajouri dist

RAJOURI, July 19:Annual Plan to the tune of Rs 81 crore have been approved for district Rajouri at the District Development Board meeting held under the chairmanship of Minster for Industries and Commerce S. S. Slathia here, today .The total allocation includes Rs 50.72 crore as capital component and Rs. 30.30 crore as the revenue component.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Slathia, who is chairman of the DDB, Rajouri, stressed that the developmental projects should be envisaged by keeping in consideration the viability and need of such project in the area .He said that the district administration should work in liaison with the elected representatives of the area for development of the district.
Slathia stressed on proper implementation of MGNREGP in the district and said that the scheme is effective tool to improve the economic condition of the people and provide them job opportunities at their doorsteps .He said that the scheme can help to change the face of the ruralties and the concerned departments should keep the people aware about the benefits of the scheme
Earlier, the District Development Commi-ssioner, Rajouri G. A. Khwaja gave a resume of achievements of various departments for the financial year 2009-10 and also apprised the Board about the important development activities in the district .
He informed that the total allocation for the year 2009-10 was to the tune of Rs. 7774.68 lakhs and the funds to the tune of Rs. 7760.84 lakhs were utilized during the financial year 2009-10 thus recording 99.83% fund utilization
The DDC also deliberated upon the sector-wise details of physical and financial achievements for the year 2009-10 of various departments
On the occasion, the minister exhorted the officers to work with dedication to redress the problems of the people. The DDC projected various demands for the development of the district which mainly include upgradation of Hamilton Bridge upgradition of tehsil buildings of Kalakote, Sunderbani, Thanamandi and Rajouri, double lanning of Bufliaz to Salani bridge and Abdullah bridge, sanction Rs. 70 lakhs each for Gujjar-Bakerwal and Pahari Hostels at Rajouri for their repairs/renovations as both the hostels require immediate repairs and upgraditions.
Among others the meeting was attended by Minister of State for CA&PD, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Vice Chairman, Kissan Development Board Mr. Rachpal Singh, Vice Chairman, Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People Sayed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Vice Chairman, Advisory Board for Development of Gujjar and Bakerwal Ch. Bashir Ahmed Naaz, Vice Chairperson, Advisory Board of Development of Scheduled Castes, Sawarn Lata, Vice Chairman, Advisory Board of Development of Other Backward Classes, Kuldeep Raj, MLA, Nowshera, Radhay Shyam Sharma, MLA Darhal, Ch. Zulfqar Ali, MLC, Ravinder Sharma and other senior officers from various departments.
