JPPF to intensify campaign for local VC | | | early times report Jammu, July 20: Core group of JPPF (Jammu province peoples forum) an amalgam of more than 50 social, commercial and other organizations and united voice of Jammu Province met here today to deliberate on current issues: The core group decoded that in order to widen the scope of interaction with the civil society PPF branches should be established at district and tehsil headquarters of Jammu Division. The purpose will be bringing awareness to the people of Jammu Province about various activities undertaken by the JPPF/ The core group decoded to draft a broad-based constitution for the JPPF. It was agreed to meet with MPs/MLAs /Ministers concerned including CM of the State to expedite the functioning of Central University Jammu and appointment of local Vice Chancellor. It was also decide to meet prominent citizens, head of the various institutions, educationists, and social activists for giving wider publicity to the cause of JPPF. Discussion was also held on the issue that almost all Central Universities sanctioned by the Central Govt. have started functioning from this session but Central University Jammu was lagging behind and no concrete steps have been taken regarding land acquisition and appointment of Vice Chancellor. Different student organizations have met JPPF to express their resentment for delaying the session of Central University Jammu. They threaten to launch agitation in case of further delay in the matter. JPPF decided to extend its full support to the student community in their demand for expediting the establishment of Central University.
