Environmental Preservation Month concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 20: Environmental Preservation Month being organised by Indian Youth Congress on June 19, the birth anniversary of Rahul Gandhi, concluded here today at PWD Guest House. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for R&B G M Saroori said that to save the existing greenery it is the duty of every citizen to plant trees which is the need of the hour. He stressed for conducting such plantation drives at district and block level in order to create awareness among the people. He said that such drives are vital for making the environment pollution free. He appreciated the efforts of Indian Youth Congress for organizing Environmental Preservation Month and asked them to organize such events more frequently. State Coordinator, Indian Youth Congress Manjeet Singh said that the main objective of organizing Environmental Preservation Month is to make aware the people to plant more and more trees to save the existing greenery. He said that more than 40 plants have been planted in various blocks of Jammu and Samba districts. He said that they are also conducting seminars on water harvesting, global warming etc to create awareness among the people. On the conclusion day of Environmental Preservation Month, Saroori planted a sapling in the premises of PWD Guest House, Gandhi Nagar.
