BJP warns government on water and power scarcity | | | early times report Jammu, July 20: In a statement BJP leader Ramesh Arora said that the State and the Union constitutions declared J&K a welfare state. As such it was the responsibility of the State to provide basic necessitates of life to the people of the state. Water and electricity are among the basic necessities but the government has failed to provide these to the people. As such the government has no right to remain glued to power. On moral as well as on constitutional grounds the government should quit office. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should decide whether such ineffective government should continue to be in power or not? He said that his party warns the state government to take all possible steps to provide basic amenities of life. The government had promised to the public that after electronic meters were installed there would not be any cut in power supply. But unscheduled power cut has made life miserable. People are not getting even drinking water for survival. As such public protests on these issues are justified.
