3 Cong ministers to go, induction of new incumbent at 'top level' likely | Cabinet reshuffle | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 20: While curtains will come down within two to three days about impending cabinet reshuffle in the Omar Abdullah led ministry of alliance government , the speculations about the names of fresh incumbents as also the ones to be dropped have made the political scene restive.The speculation are getting stronger with leaders of both the parties making visits to New Delhi. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also left for New Delhi this evening soon after the District Development Board meeting. Even as there are certain names making rounds about the ministers of both the alliance partners, reliable sources said at least three senior ministers of Congress from Jammu region will not find place in the Omar Abdullah government. Sources said since there are brazen allegations of corruption and 'non performance' in terms of not delivering up to expectations of masses at ground level is concerned, the party command has given green signal for their replacement , even though hectic consultations are going ona at high command level about the decision which is likely to see the change in face of Congress in the coalition. Interestingly, all the three ministers of cabinet rank, are holding key portfolios . In what can be seen as yet another major decision, the Congress high Command has also made up its mind of effecting change in the leadership at high level in the coalition government in terms of its placement of its leaders in hierarchy. Reliable sources said, the decision which is is under serious consideration of the government will incorporate entry of a senior most leader, a heavyweight from outside the government at present at the high level from Congress side. Sources said this change is being considered on the suggestion of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself, who is reported to have conveyed it to the Congress High Command that he needs a leader who is both experienced and has acceptability among the masses of Jammu. The new incumbent, apparently a veteran politician from Jammu , sources said is expected to develop a much needed consistent liaison with masses on ground. Sources said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who left for New Delhi today is holding consultation with senior leaders of the Congress about his intentions to effect cabinet reshuffle apparanetly needed in the wake of allegations of corruption and non performance on ground. While he along with his father Dr Farooq Abdullah will decide about the fate of ministers and new entrants, the consultations have become imperative for seeking changes from within the Congress party in particular. Sources said the Chief Minister will ask for resignation of all the existing lot on July 22, a mandatory step before effecting reshuffle and announce the changes which may be loaded with some 'surprises' too.
