Army uniform sale banned in Rajouri ‘ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, July 24 : As militants were seen mostly using army uniform to mislead people, privatization of sale of army uniform came under the scanner with authorities issued an order banning sale and purchase of army uniforms by unauthorized person in Rajouri district. Authorities have also banned use of painted vehicles, as used by the army, by civilians in Rajouri districts. Following complaints of illegal sale and purchase of army uniform by the unauthorized people in Rajouri, District Development Commissioner Rajouri has taken such steps in order to restrict its sale only to the authorized people. Ghulam Mohammad Khawaja, DDC Rajouri said that the uniform and painted vehicles can be misused by any person and to avoid this, he has issued an order of banning the sale and purchase of army uniform in Rajouri district. "It can be misused by criminals as well as militants", DDC said adding that the policy is not new and they had to issue this order in the interest on the residents. However DDC said that those who are authorized dealers of purchase and sale of army uniform are not coming under the purview of the ban. DDC also said that he has banned painted vehicles in Rajouri which looked like army vehicles. "This can also be misused by the miscreants for their own benefit and we have taken this step for the safety and security of the general public", he added.
