| Valley cueists enter semis in style | | |

JAMMU, July 24: Both valley cueists in race for a berth in the last four today entered the knock-out stages of the semi-finals in style after emerging successful in all their quarterfinals league engagements to top the respective pools in junior snooker event of the State Billiards and Snooker Championships underway at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here.
Now, in the semi-finals, scheduled for tomorrow, Dilawar Mir shall take on Ishan Chowdhary at 12 noon, followed by the second semi-final between Nitin Sharma and Mudassar Nath at 2 pm.
Earlier, Mudassar Nath topped group-A with Ishan Chowdhary being second qualifier, Dilawar Mir was No. one from group-B. Jammu district champion, Nitin Sharma was another qualifier for the semifinals from group-B. In today's last leg of the quarterfinals league competitions, Mudassar Nath defeated Khursheed Majid in straight frames while Dilawar Mir trounced Nitin Sharma 2-1.
Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the first round of the senior snooker event shall start from July 26.
