EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 24: A juice seller, who was alleged to be having illicit relations with a Bihari woman, was last night allegedly beaten to death by her husband and his three friends at Model Town in Gangyal here.
The dead was identified as Som Kumar Singh alias Vicky Singh (28), son of Jagdish Singh, of Taragarh, Punjab, and the accused as Krishna, Shishupal, Prabhu Yadav and Mohammad Bachu, all residents of Bihar.
Vicky, who had come from Punjab to earn his livelihood, owned a juice rehri at Model Town where Krishna also lived with his family. Police sources said Vicky developed illicit relations with Krishna's wife and often visited their residence in his absence.
About 25 days back, he was caught by Krishna in their house but he could not take any action against him because of his healthy built, the sources added.
To avoid any contact with him, Krishna later shifted to another house in the locality, but Vicky visited there too in his absence.
Last night, when Krishna came home, he found Vicky inside. He then called his friends -- Shishupal, Yadav and Bachu.
The foursome took Vicky to the rooftop where they had a fight.
Sources said after giving him a sound beating, they threw him into the nearby nullah where he died.
The incident took place at about 11.30 pm and police came to know about it at about 12.55 am. Sources said police evacuated the body to the GMC Hospital mortuary for its post-mortem.
During the course of investigation, when the mystery unfolded, a police team led by Gangyal police station SHO, Inspector Ajay Jamwal took all the accused into custody while they were planning to leave the state, the sources added.
A murder case was registered against them. Sources said Vicky's family at Taragarh had been informed of the incident.
