Case filed against NO for alleged rape bid on patient | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 24 : In an examplary punishment to a nursing orderly (NO) for his alleged bid to outrage the modesty of a woman patient in CD hospital here, the hospital superintendent has written to GMC principal for his dismissal from services. Identified as Nazir Hussain, son of Mir Hussain, the accused No hails from Kalapani in Mendhar, Poonch. Suffering from a chest disease, Lachcha Devi, wife of Dewan Singh of Mahore was admitted to the hospital few days back. Nazir had allegedly been teasing her since the time of her admission to the hospital, official sources said. On Wednesday, he called her to a room on the pretext of carrying out some tests on her. While she went to the room, her husband waited outside, the sources added. Sources said when he allegedly started misbehaving with her, the woman raised an alarm following which he fled the hospital. CD hospital superintendent, Dr Ravinder Ratanpal said when the woman and her husband approached him with a written complaint against the NO, he ordered an inquiry. He said the inquiry report was submitted to him today. "The report establishes Nazir's involvement in the case," he added. Dr Ratanpal said based on the inquiry report, the NO was immediately placed under suspension. "A letter for termination of his services has been sent to the GMC principal for his approval," he informed. The superintendent said the Bakshi Nagar police station had also been officially informed of the incident. Police had registered a case in this connection for a legal action against him, he added. When contacted, police said Nazir had not been arrested till late tonight. |
