| 3rd IMF Cup `lead climbing' in Sept | | | EARLY TIMS REPORT
JAMMU, July 27: Organised by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), New Delhi, the 3rd IMF Cup shall take place at Mehar Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh from September four.Named Chandigarh Cup, the competition shall be held only in `lead climbing' event. The competition is open to all affiliated Zones, Army, Air Force, para military forces and mountaineering institutes.
This was disclosed by secretary of the North Zone Sport Climbing Committee, Ram Khajuria in an interaction with reporters here today.
He further said that climbers interested to take part from Jammu and Kashmir may contact office of the Mountaineering Association of J&K at 75-76, Sarwal Colony or contact the secretary on Mobile No. 94191-96378 to confirm their entries.
It may be mentioned here that as a special initiation to promote sport climbing across the country, Indian Mountaineering Foundation, the apex body for adventure sports in the country, has introduced the IMF Cups, a series of climbing competitions spread over the country. The first such competition was held at Mussourie in May and the second at Hyderabad in June last.
