Upgradation of Jammu radio stn sought | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 27: In joint statement of Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party legislators Sh Harsh Dev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yash Pal Kundal urged the Unoin Information & Broadcasting Minister Ambica Soni for the upgradation of Jammu radio station and provision of relay radio station in Udhampur and other remote district of the state. As per the release, panthers legislators urged the union minister about the in-efficacy of the transmitters in transmitting the news and other information to the remote areas of various districts, including Udhampur district. In view of week transmission system of radio station Jammu,the necessary National propaganda and other news items cannot reach the people residing in hilly belts. And on the contrary,the anti-national & highly malicious propaganda unleashed from across the border,through their radio has strong transmission system and likely to poison the minds of the people. The same also needs to be effectively counted. They said that the provision of relay stations in the remote districts therefore becomes all the more important likewise the strengthening of radio station Jammu which has not given due attention from past twenty years after start of militancy in the state. The Panthers legislature demanded immediate attention for appropriate action at the earliest.
