RAJOURI, July 27: Shab-i-Barat was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in Rajouri.Muslim community throughout the night offered prayers and burst crackers.
As the sun went off, people especially youngsters started bursting crackers. "This is our unique style of celebrating the event", a boy Mohammad Tariq said adding "I am following the tradition set by my parents as I have seen them doing so on this day". "There is no mention in any religious book to burst crackers on the day and instead bursting crackers people should concentrate on prayers throughout the night", a religious leader told Early Times.
