| Gupta visits flood affected areas of Kathua | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, July 27:President District Congress Committee Kathua and MLC Subash Gupta toured flood affected areas of Kathua district and took stock of the various problems of people.
He visited Kotpunnu, Dhali, Matrey Chack, Chann Charkri, Belian, Rakh Sarkar and several other villages of the area.
He said that the paddy and maze crops are badly affected in these villages, the flood water entered into the houses of the area and there was great damage to immovable property.
Member Legislative Council announced rupees 1.10 lakh for construction of bund at village Kotpunnu and rupees one lakh for construction of cremation shed at Chadwal out of his Constituency Development Fund.
He also discussed the matter with Chief Engineer Flood Control BR Dogra and stressed for construction of bund in a war footing manner to protect the area from further devastation.
