Centre approves maternity Hospital for Srinagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, July 27:Government is contemplating to construct 200-bedded Maternity and 400-bedded Children's Hospital in Srinagar shortly to ease the rush of patients in existing health institutions in the Valley. This information was given by Minister for Medical Education, while addressing an officers meeting of Srinagar Development Authority, Government Medical College Srinagar and other allied departments here today. He said that the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved 200 bedded maternity Hospital for Srinagar while as the proposal for setting up of Children's Hospital is under strong consideration of State for which Government project Report has been prepared by Medical Education Department and the same will be submitted for approval to the Centre. Chib further said that the construction of additional wing of Lal Ded Hospital will be completed by the end of this year.Principal Secretary, H&ME, Dr R K Jerath who was also present in the meeting apprised the meeting about the steps being taken by the government for extending quality medicare in Government Hospitals. The meeting discussed threadbare the measures to be adopted for ensuring best medicare availability in all the health centres of the State.
