| State team to study cooperative structure in AP: Manohar | | |

SRINAGAR, July 28: Minister of State for Cooperatives, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, who is currently on visit to Andhra Pardesh had a meeting with Andhra’s Cooperative Minister R Venkataraman and discussed host of issues relating to the promotion of cooperative sector.
The Ministers exchanged views on the growing potential of cooperative sectors in their respective states and shared their experiences.
It was decided in the meeting that a team of senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir will be deputed to Andhra Pardesh for comprehensive study of the functioning of institutional structure and functioning of marketing societies and the procedure for their regulatory mechanism.
Dr Manohar informed his counterpart about the working of cooperative department in Jammu and Kashmir and initiatives taken by the State Government to extend banking facilities to the farmers. He also highlighted diversification measures taken to increase the ambit of marketing operations of Primary Agriculture Societies in the state.
Earlier, the Ministers visited the most revered shrine of Tirupati Balaji and paid obeisance. They prayed for peace and prosperity of the country at the shrine particularly for Jammu and Kashmir.
