SMGS hospital gets 200-bedded addl paediatric block | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 28: Minister for Technical and Medical Education Er. Rajinder Singh Chib today inaugurated 200-bedded additional Paediatric block at Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital (SMGS), Shalimar. The block is coming up at a cost of Rs. 1937.75 lakh by JKPCC. MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria, MLA, Bimla Luthra, Chief Engineer, R&B, D. L. Sharma, Acting Principal Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Aniece Choudhary, Head of Paediatric Department Dr. Rekha Harish, Medical Superintendent, SMGS hospital Dr. Romesh Gupta, Head of Departments of various departments, medical and para-medical staff members besides other senior officers of JKPCC and R&B were present. After inaugurating the Paediatric Block, Mr. Chib addressed a large gathering and said this new block comprises of pediatrics emergency stocks including Isolation room, nurses, doctors, three OTs with pre-and post operative rooms, Intensive Care Unit, procedure room, social worker room, seminar room with toilets besides canteen facilities. He said that with the inauguration of this block, the rush in existing 550-beded Paediatric block would be reduced upto large extent. Later, the Minister also inspected the various wards and enquired about the facilities being provided by hospital administration to the ailing persons.
