| DDC holds public grievances camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, 29: THE District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Sanjeev Verma today convened a public grievances camp at Tehsil office,Hiranagar to listen to the problems of the border people.
MLA, Hiranagar. Durga Dass, MLC,. Subash Gupta, Ex- MLA. Girdhari Lal, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua, M.S. Sheikh, Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE, Irrigation PDD, Flood Control, District officers along with Tehsil level and block level officers and large number of people from Hiranagar and border areas were present in the grievances camp.
The people of Hiranagar, Marheen, Jandi ,Rajpura, Ghagwal, Sher pur, Dayalachak, Kote punnu, Chakra, Babiya, Druma Chak put forth various demands and problems before the district administration . The problems mostly related to scarcity of drinking water, interrupted power, dilapidated condition of roads, shortage of staff in educational institutions, payment of land acquired for government purposes, supply of seed and fertilizers, and supply of ration at CAPD depots etc.
Mr. Yash Pal, advocate, demanded that encroachment on the government land should be removed and said that there is scarcity of drinking water in Hiranagar town. He demanded for widening of Dayalachak to Hiranagar road. He alleged that officers posted at Hiranagar does not attend their offices regularly.
The people of border areas also demanded compensation of 3 and 4 crop for the land fall under landmines area which are pending before board procceding of GOC army.The people also demanded for establishment of Apni Mandi. The people of Chakra demanded bridge over Tarnah nallah. The people of Chhan Khatrian demanded construction of boundary wall of Middle School Chhan Khatrian. The people also demanded repair of defunct hand pumps in the area The people of Kattal Brahamna demanded repair of link road from Londi to Londi more National Highway.The people of Village Kadyal demanded up gradation of Government Middle School Kadyal to High school level. The people said there are 8 nallahs in the tehsil which have regular water and which can be used for irrigation purpose.MLA, Hiranagar, Mr. Durga Dass while speaking on the occasion thanked the district administration for holding grievance camp at Hiranagar for mitigation of problems of people.
MLC, Mr. Subash Gupta while speaking on the occasion thanked the district administration particularly DDC, Mr. Sanjeev Verma for holding open darbar at Hiranagar and hoped that the problems of the people would be mitigated. He supported all the demands projected by the people of the area. He demanded for framing time limits for preparing estimates for Rural developments works.
Ex- MLA, Mr. Girdhari lal also thanked the DDC for holding such type of open darbar at Hiranagar. District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Mr. Sanjeev verma apprised that all the land acquisition cases in the tehsil have been cleared and assured that genuine problems and demands projected by the people will be mitigated.
