| Bhim terms Lal Chowk event a victory of democratic forces | | |

JAMMU, July 29: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, JKNPP was along with the other Panthers Party activists released late last night in Srinagar, described yesterday’s Lal Chowk event as a great victory of democratic forces in the state and a unique initiative for political process to fight people’s alienation from political process.
Addressing a crowded media conference in Srinagar this morning, Prof. Bhim Singh asserted that a short spell of Governor Rule is the only way out to end people’s revolt against the Chief Minister and his government in J&K. He said that entire people in Kashmir Valley have been suffering, there are no schools for the children, no hospitals for the sick persons, all public institutions stand closed. And there is a total anarchy. The State is run by ghost leadership from the jails and those who are actually sitting on the seat of government have lost all its control over the administration.
He urged the Governor to impose Governor rule without any delay which is the only way out to restore normalcy as the Chief Minister has lost the confidence of the people and even members of the Assembly. If there is any doubt, the governor should convene emergency session of the Assembly and ask Chief Minister to prove his existence on the floor of the House.
Prof Bhim Singh accused the echelons of Doordarshan and Radio Kashmir, Srinagar for acting as second chamber of the Information Department of the coalition government. He urged Prime Minister for his intervention to ensure that Doordarshan and Radio Kashmir, Srinagar does not act as tools to the state government.
The Panthers Chief condemned Doordarshan and Radio Kashmir, Srinagar for completely black out of the nationalist and democratic activities of Panthers Party only because the State government desired so. The Panthers Party has declared a social boycott of Doordarshan, Kashmir and Radio Kashmir, Srinagar and declared that they shall launch a movement against the killers of democratic voice in the Valley. He said that Doordarshan (Kashmir) and Radio Kashmir, Srinagar are mainly responsible for generating ill-will and hatred towards the Central government by indulging into false propaganda projecting the corrupt and outdated leaders of NC and Congress in J&K
Prof. Bhim Singh also declared that the political process which Panthers Party started yesterday inspite of the police suppression and assault on the Panthers Party workers, shall carry the political process to Ladakh and every district of Kashmir and Jammu.
