Sikh organisations condemn hurting religious sentiments of community

JAMMU, July 29: Various Sikh Organisations which include Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu, Shiromani Akali Dal (A), Jammu Sikh Navjavan Sabha Jammu, Kashmir Sikh Sangat Jammu, Sikh Sardar Ekta Sabha, Sikh Student Federation, Sikh Missionary and other Sikh organization in a meeting held today express great shock over the most unfortunate happening of abusing, mishandling and chopping of the portion of scared hear of Sikh youth at Tral of district Pulwama, (Kashmir) by miscreants of majority community. This is most condemnable action and Sikh Community all through the state has taken it very seriously and with great shock.
They said Sikhs in the valley and else where in the state respect all the religions and always keep the sentiments of other religions in view simultaneously we never tolerate disrespect of our religion and religious ethics.
Speakers said ‘We are always for peace communal harmony and building social fabrics in the state with all other communities and do expect such action towards our religion also in case some one tries to interfere show disrespect or commits religious sacrilege on our community we will resists it with all our resources and force at our command. No one should forget the Chatti Singh Pura killings when Sikh community not only from India but all through the globe call to the rescue of aggrieved families showing there by solidarity in such unfortunate community.
They said that government for action to the miscreants responsible for this unfortunate action should be arrested and brought to justice under law of the land on fast track trial basis, beside minority community in the valley be given proper and adequate protection so that they may not feel unsafe.
Meanwhile, J&K United Sikh Forum at a press conference addressed by its chairman, S. Sudershan Singh Wazir termed the incident very unfortunate with Sikh youth which is against the spirit of centuries old communal harmony and brotherhood of Kashmiri culture and ethos. He warned all such mischievous elements to refrain from such incidents otherwise cause of Kashmiriyat shall be harmed.
Wazir called upon Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to personally intervene in this matter and take the strongest possible administrative action against the culprits, which should deter others from repeating the same in future. He also appreciated the gesture of the Chief Minister for having telephonic conversation with Mahant Manjeet Singh of Dera Sri Nangali Sahib Poonch about the incident assuring his of prompt action in the matter.
Avtar Singh Khalsa, president Jammu United Secular Forum, while condemning the incident called upon the intelligencia and progressive forces in Kashmir to come forward and not only condemned this incident but also isolate such mischievous elements who are bent upon tarnishing the movement in Kashmir.
Mohinder Singh, chief organizer Bhai Kanhiya Nishkam Sewa Society warned these goonda elements to be prepared for a worst possible punishment at the hands of law and in case the state agencies fail to perform then the Sikh community will have to rise to the occasion and take appropriate measures for it’s safety and protection. Paramjeet of AISSF also condemn this heinous act.
Others who participated in press conference were S. Ramnik Singh Bijral, S. Kultar Singh, S. Surinder Singh Kala, S. Gajan Singh, S. Kulwant Singh, S. Harjit Singh and S. Ravinder Singh Kala and etc.
