JMC employees flouting own rules | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 30: What can happen if officials of law enforcing agencies are found involved in violation of the rules meant for others.
This is true in case of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) complex; even employees are seen smoking openly in the offices and virtually every wall of the building is filled with spitting of “Pan Masala and Gutkha” and 3rd floor of the JMC complex is glaring example in this context.
It is pertinent to mention here that smoking and use of Tobacco products is banned in public places and violators can be booked under law.
There are many instances in different parts of the state where violators are being fined.
But in JMC complex no rules worth its importance are followed and authorities behave as a mute spectator.
This exposes the truth of city beautification drive of JMC for cleanness and maintaining beauty of the city, as when JMC can not ensure cleanliness of its own complex, how it could ensure the success of the beautification of winter capital.
Surprisingly, JMC officials always boast that civic body is committed for ensuring cleanliness of the city and claim that offenders are being fined.
But reality is quite different as smokers are still smoking and tobacco chewers continue to spit in public places thus exposing the tall claims of law enforcement agencies.
